fahye: ([other] mining & translating the light)
Remember my vague allusion to a short story anthology? Well, I am super chuffed to tell you that I'm contributing to the FIGHT LIKE A GIRL fantasy anthology, a Kickstarter-funded project with a whole heap of amazing writers involved.

You probably know how I feel about female protagonists and stories devoted to examining and celebrating their strengths and struggles; well, here's an entire book of them!

The official Kickstarter page is here, with all the information you need. I hope you'll take a look and consider contributing a bit towards the project, or even just help us out with a signal boost.

I won't tell you too much about the story I'm writing for it, but those who know me will be utterly unsurprised to learn that it contains: a) a reluctantly responsible older sister, b) flirting via sign language, and c) a magical library. So far it has yet to develop any anatomy metaphors, but hey, it's not done yet.

The name I'm writing under is Freya Marske, which is depressingly unGoogleable at the moment because it's my real first name combined with a shiny new surname -- Marske is actually a town in Yorkshire where some of my family hails from -- for job-compartmentalisation reasons. (Dammit man, I'm a doctor, not a professional author!)

Apologies in advance for the promotional spam that will no doubt flood my every online platform over the next month. I'm excited!
