Three and a half pages of dot points later, Quindlemire has a coherent plot. Yay.
Starting January 14th (giving![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
tammaiya time to finish work, and me to get some more Christmas fics done) we're embarking on our own version of NaNoWriMo. Our own version being thirty days over two months, not in November, and working on novels already begun. Watch us improvise our little hearts out.
The thing about Quindlemire is that it's already 45,000 words long (although 40,000 words were written about four years ago and thus need to be edited to within an inch of their miserable lives) and thus all I need to do is write, well, most of the actual plot. Did I mention that it sort of grew to crazy proportions? Yeah. It did. I'd let it go as a tribute to juvenile writing efforts, but I like my characters. I really do. And the plot is fun and not really serious and convuluted enough to keep me interested in it. So my goal will not be to reach any particular word count, though I'll be keeping track, but to finish the bloody thing.
Efforts will cease on February 14th, giving me something to actually celebrate when everyone is off being showered with love and chocolates. Anyone who wants to join us in our incredibly loose novel-writing effort (Ashie - you expressed an interest?) is more than welcome. Otherwise you're just going to have to put up with gratuitous quotage, word counts and hair-pulling over those 30 days. Warning you now.
In news of actual Life... I walked to and from the library today, which my legs are telling me was a very bad idea. Got out three books - one on postmodernism, one on mysticism and the esoteric tradition, and one on the French Revolution.
Good God, what are you people doing to my brain?
AND ALSO - MAZEL TOV AND PILES OF LOVE TOdarthrami AND strange_selkie. EMBARRASSING WEDDING PRESENTS WILL BE LOCATED AND SENT. WHOO!
