'lo again

To quote Mel:

I'm back and sick as a pig!

Ugh. Have massive cold in the middle of summer. Something is not right.

NYSF was amazing, but I am seriously far too braindead to wax lyrical on it right now. Highlights:

* Eugenie, my dear, I shall never doubt you again. Made friends with a reasonably hawt Asian man called Ivan, a quite remarkably hawt Asian man called Will, and a fucking gorgeous - looks and personality - guy called Nathan who is studying at the ANU this year and has given me permission to camp on his doorstep and drag him out for coffee *smug*

* So very many new friendsen. I miss Juliet ;_; Spent most of last night/this morning latched onto her arm, running around the UC with her and yelling "HOOLIET" like the nurse from Baz Luhrmann's R+J. Want to go to the uni seminars in Melbourne so I can see her again.

* No lessons. Many visits to places public can never see, including meeting the Governor General with deep fried camembert on my chin because I thought it was a frigging chicken nugget and then it DRIPPED. Also crazy bushdance and disco.

* Have been decidedly turned off physics. Did a lot of research and questioning and can do research psychology as a major in the PhB *cheers* Required UAI = 99. Guh.

* Surrounded by people who write! Lots of people shared story ideas and things with me. One girl that I grew to know quite well has a SEVERELY fucked up life straight out of a novel (dead mother, alcoholic father, mentally ill sister, she has had anorexia, nervous attacks and depression, and is currently living with her enligh teacher and trying to find a place to rent. she's our age. I spent an entire lunchtime listening to her talk and trying not to goggle too obviously.) and we shared copious notes on psychology and its applications to writing. She's doing a thingo for english which sounds brilliant - a version of Hamlet exploring feminism, Virginia Woolf, postmodernism, change of perspective and other cool things. She stole (with my consent) the idea of an imaginay character providing narration, which I'm using in Missing Pieces.
Also came up with delightful new vampire story. Complex. Involves casinos. Am (of course) in love with two main characters (Ashe de Keyne & Toulouse Merriac, or Merri. French vampires. Hawt dang.) I'm so predictable.

* DDRed at Belco with two hawt guys watching - Alex and Will ^^ They were most impressed, and then dragged me off to watch them shoot things. Men are amusing.

* Uni halls provide you with far too much good food. Have been fattened up, though running up and down stairs to my room on the top floor might have helped.

* I have a hole in my finger from someone dropping a frigging PEN on it point first(don't ask me how...), a bad headcold and severe sleep deprivation.

* I have SKILLZ and KNOWLEDGE and there is NOTHING that life can throw at me that I cannot handle. Mwaha. Nerd camp is the most fucking brilliant thing on the planet.

* If you haven't watched grown men shave their legs, don little black dresses with water bombs down the front and pretend to hit on the staff members, you haven't lived. This wasn't a typical camp. This was insanity with a lab coat on.

Really want to socialise, but probably a bad idea whilst I am feeling like death warmed up and would probably infect anyone near me >.< Ugh.

REALLY can't be bothered to read friends entries, considering sheer volume of them. If anything life-changing or even vaguely concerning me has happened, or if you would like to pull my soul out of the strange place between sickness and nostalgia, then please leave a comment.

Hugs to [livejournal.com profile] childofinsanity for her text message :)
